A general orthopedist and one of only a small percentage of female orthopedic surgeons in the country, Dr. Bergin is one of the founders of Texas Orthopedics, Sports & Rehabilitation Associates. Barbara Bergin, MD, FAAOS, is a 1981-graduate of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, TX. Her postgraduate training includes her residency in orthopedic surgery served at the University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, MO, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, TX. Dr. Bergin attained board certification in orthopedic surgery with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Furthermore, she has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon. Included in the 2021 Austin Monthly Top Doctors, Dr. Bergin is a member of several professional societies and associations, which allows her to remain at the forefront of his challenging field. Prior to enrolling in medical school, she completed her undergraduate education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, in 1977.
